Alice Clark, Minister of Music

Alice came to us as Minister of Music in May, 2008 after retiring from Danville Independent Schools as Chorus Director and Music Instructor for many years. Alice grew up in Springfield Baptist Church and her first position after graduating from Campbellsville Univerisity was with Springfield Baptist as Minister of Music in 1973. She left Springfield in 1976 with her husband Charles and have lived in various parts of the state with her family over the years. In 1985 Alice received a Masters of Education Degree from the University of Louisville. In addition to teaching music in public school for 28 years, she has served as youth music minister and pianist in several churches, traveled with the Kentucky Ambassadors of Music to Europe in 2000, active member of Kentucky Music Educators Association and American Choral Directors Association, and taught private piano for many years.

Charles and Alice returned to Springfield area in 2002 to her family farm, where they raise registered Angus cattle. They are the proud parents of 3 grown children & their spouses along with 6 grand children. Alice is the daughter of the late Arthur and Nannie Grubbs, who were members of Springfield Baptist Church from the early 1950's until their deaths.

Alice's life has centered around music, the church and her family. "I fill very priviledged to be able to give back to this church and this community. I began learning music and practicing from the hymnals in this church. This is where it all began. I hope that I can inspire others to love music and hear the word of God through music, as those who were here before me where such an inspiration."
